The noise and graininess is filled in and the image will appear much smoother and complete. I think that it should work relatively well, although I believe we might need to switch to 32 bit float space instead of the current 16 bit integer to really squeeze out every bit of useful information from hundreds of photos. The limit of 16 frames is imposed because we thought it is sufficient for most application and we did not think about astrophotography before. I went back and reread the article and the maximum number of RAW files Kandao RAW can handle is 16. I think it was really designed more for photographers who use continuous mode for shooting short bursts while hand holding the camera. If so then it will have limited use in AP. I think I read that Kandao RAW only stacks about 15 photos.
